Our driving trip there took place over 2½ weeks in the late autumn month of May in 2000. Daylight hours were relatively short with full darkness at about 1700/1800 hours, and most of the greenery have withered and fallen. However New Zealand still managed to awe us with its grand splendour of majestic mountains and scenic lakes. We started out in Christchurch in the South Island, and moved on south to Dunedin before turning up to Queenstown and westwards to Milford Sound, and moving on to Picton where we took the InterIslander to the North Island. Thereafter we visited the major cities of Wellington and Auckland before heading home. The pictures are arranged in chronological order.
